Summer's end

A few thoughts ...

Puckato is back online after an extended summer hiatus. Thank you to all the subscribers who continue to support the blog. Soon, it will be back on a regular schedule. I also hope to figure out where things will be going in the social media world with Twitter’s change to X (insert eyeroll emoji here) and how to stay there, go to Threads, work both or just ride things out on this platform.

While it’s still the dog days of August, there are plenty of reminders that hockey season is not far off (exactly two months away from regular-season opening weekend). Pics of the annual “media day” when the Mavericks shoot their video intros and get their photos taken popped up on social media today. And just a few days ago there was this:

Yep, the Mavericks will have a new gold jersey this season. Not sure if it’s a road sweater or replacing the gold one with the diagonal MAVERICKS they’ve worn for the last few years. Looking at the media day stuff, it appears the home whites are still in play. Here’s hoping these are home alternatives and that the roads remain purple (perhaps with the bull replacing the word mark).
