St. Thomas and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced Wednesday that the Tommies will be joining the NCHC starting in the 2026-27 season, leaving the CCHA, which they joined in 2021. Barring any other changes, the NCHC will be a 10-team league then, as Arizona State will go in next season in the league’s first expansion since beginning play in 2013. The CCHA, meanwhile, will be at eight teams (again, barring any other team movement), with Augustana becoming a full member in 2025.
