It’s championship Friday in the CCHA, and Minnesota State is missing out on the league final for the first time since 2021. That season, of course, they were still prepping for the NCAAs and would go on to their first of back-to-back Frozen Fours. This year, they’ll be at home watching the national tournament for the first time since 2017 (not counting 2020’s covid cancelation). So what to make of the 2023-24 season, Luke Strand’s first as head coach, an 18-15-4 record and a fourth-place finish (one point out of second) in the CCHA? Here are a few thoughts …
